文豪ドストエフスキーの名作「罪と罰」の舞台を現代のヘルシンキに移して映画化。 食肉解体工場で働くラヒカイネン。ある日、仕事が終わった彼は、町中で1人の中年男の後をつけ、家までついていく。ドアが開いたところでラヒカイネンはピストルをつきつけ、容赦なく殺害。そこへやってきた若い女は、驚きもせず彼を逃してしまう。
